How to Get a Green Card? ASAP Ohh every desi in USA think about this once in a while, and for some thats their first and last goal.

I do think about it here and there, but in the last few months I am getting a little too desperate about it too. This though is crossing my mind one too many times. Since January of this year I started pursuing all the options out there, weighing the pros and cons,figuring out will it work for me and in the end what i thought i will have to do.

Option1: Paper Marriage

Pros: No wait time, No Real Commitment, Plenty of People are willing to do so. Best option in terms of Wait Time.
Cons: Illegal, Prohibited in Islam, Required bunch of money to Pay the partner, Required atleast 2 year commitment (marriage green card does not become permanent for 2 years), Can't get your real wife over to USA if you are married (although there are ways around it), Often the partner in crime(woman) screws you up after some time for want of more money than initially decided upon

Decision: I talked with few people about this option. I quickly decided not to go with this option as it is totally prohibited in Islam and I didn't want to delay my real marriage that long. This was never really an option for me.

Option2: Finance your Green Card

Pros: People are easily willing to do so. Only needs to pay the full amount of money after you get your green card. Don't need to stick to your current company all your life to get the green card as the green card will be applied for a future employment.
Cons:  Required around $30,000 in full, Might take 4-5 years or even more to get the green card. Can you really trust some unknown person to pursue the green card for you after 1-2 years when you have already paid him a large portion of money.

Decision: I am employed so if I had to wait for the green card anyways I can do so with my employer which would require lot less money


Option3: Asylum

Pros: No Commitment, Nothing Illegal about it. Can come up with any absurd excuse to apply for asylum (you are gay, life in danger(you belong to shia community and live in pakistan, you are in love with the daughter of a powerful man and he will have you killed because of that ). Best option if you want to extend your stay in USA legally. For the amount of time it takes to decide your case, you are legally allowed to stay in USA(if you are not granted an asylum,  the appeal process can easily take 6-8 years before a final decision is made)
Cons: Long waiting time (for most cases).You cant go back to your country for the length of your case. You don't really know if your case will be approved or not.

Decision: The price that I couldn't go back to my country for the length of my case was too much to pay for me.

Option4: Real Marriage

Pros: No wait time. Legal way
Cons: Committing to someone for your life.

Decision: I am not sure if I can do this. First of all it doesn't feel right in my heart if I marry someone just to get the green card. It would be for me marriage of convenience. I know people do this all the time (people marry to seek more power, more money). I will only do this if I truly find someone I like with whom I am sure I can spend my life with. I don't want to ruin 2 lives just to get a green card. One other reason which is deterring me from pursuing this option is my mother. She wants me to marry a girl in Pakistan so I do not severe my ties with Pakistan(although I have no intention of doing so but she thinks if the girl is from Pakistan I will come more often to Pakistan because thats what she will do and I will have to follow her). I respect her wishes and I do sometimes feel she is right about this.

Option5: Through Job

Pros: Companies do this for you free of Cost
Cons: Depending upon your Category, can take long time. Companies take advantage of you because of this.
Decision: I decided this is the best option to pursue. If somehow I can have my green card applied in EB-2 and my name not turning up in the Security List, I can have my green card legally in one year.
