Last night with couple of my friends i went to watch Apocalypto, for one reason only it was directed by Mel Gibson. To say the least I was utterly disappointed.

The movie starts off well but after the first 15 minutes you start to loose interest in the movie. Most of the violence scenes in the movie are too horrific and there is no reason to justify them. I watched "Passion of the christ" and I felt that the graphic violence shown in the movie atleast made some sense, it was not the case for his latest presentation.

The movie lacks a story. I had read reviews on rotten tomatoes that the movie  was a fast paced chase, i found the movie contrary to that. It was very slow paced from start to the end. There was not enough ammunition in the movie to keep you glued to your seat.

Too much time was spent leading up to the chase, and after the first half  when the chase finally began, i was again disappointed. Even in that half of the movie where i thought Gibson could have really lifted the movie, he again was found wanting. Bunch of people trying to hunt 1 person how many times you have seen movies using this formula. Well add Gibson to that list.

And even if you somehow are able to bear through the movie, the ending is totally pathetic. It was so bad that it was able to make the movie even more dismal.

In short save your money, save your time and dont watch it. We should have listed to Karnail 's advise and watched "Happy Feet"
